How To Get A Seccan

Hey there! You’re interested in joining the madness, aye? Awesome! There are a few ways that you can grab a Seccan, and we’ll outline them below. If we’re unclear or otherwise confusing, please feel free and ask questions.
Via Our Adoption Herd
You can choose to pull a design straight from our available designs folder! More information below!

Via a Wooden Mannequin
A wooden Mannequin is essentially a custom design that you can win after you post ten times in game!  The admins will roll in an RNG every post after the ten to determine if you get one. There is a 15% chance of getting one with each post after. Designs won with a mannequin do count against your character slots.

Via Breeding
Or you can always have a Seccan bred for you! Seccans don't have a set breeding season, but they can only breed once per every five roleplays (A Seccan can breed after five roleplays have been completed with them, then again at ten, etc.) More information in the Breeding Guide.

Via Another Player
Sometimes other players may have Seccans that they need to rehome - this is rare, but an option nonetheless!

Via Auction or Other Group Activity
These will be posted now and then and will be self explanatory in their operations. Keep an eye out!

How To Pull A Guerrian Seccan From The Adoption Herd.

  1. Look through our Available Imports folder and pick out a design you like.
  2. Fill out the character profile template as seen below (please note that certain colors will fit better in certain herds, for instance you wouldn’t want a plain chestnut in Elorewyrn!):
  3. Name:
Age: (The year they were born as well as their current age)
    Gender:
Build: (Normal (Heavy/Light) or Wild (Wild may also be referred to as "Nomer"))
Height: (Refer to herd journals for appropriate height)

    Genotype:
    Phenotype:
    Mutations: (Veining, Rex, etc.)
    Eye Color:
Hoof Element: (Gold, platinum, silver, etc.)
    Design Sheet:

Scars: (If in Arefell and has a scarification tattoo, list it here)
    Baubles:

    Herd:
Rank: (Healers, Leaders, Seconds, Council Members, Shamans, Captains, Guards, Witchdoctors, and Mercenaries must be auditioned for)

    Sire: (List herd)
    Dam: (List herd)
    Friends:
    Mate:
    Offspring:

    Personality: (Min 200 words)
    Likes & Dislikes:

    History: (Min 200 words)

Stat Points (You can leave everything below this point blank, as these will be obtained via roleplay)
    Strength: 0
    Speed: 0
    Stamina: 0

    Breakdown:

Example: Link to piece here +3 Speed (You can delete this bit, as it's just an example to show you how to record points)

    Hematite Shards
    Total: 0

    Breakdown:
    Link to RP/Art +#here
Example: Link to piece here +3 Hematite (You can delete this bit, as it's just an example to show you how to record hem)
  4. Create a literature piece to go along with the character, from his/her point of view. This can be in the characters past, present, or future life. The piece should be at least 300 words long!
  5. Send a note to the group with the completed character profile form and the literature piece to the group as a sta.sh file (so you can edit it if need be) for review. The staff will look over it and point out any changes that need to be made. Once these changes are made, we’ll give you approval to submit a reference for the character.
  6. Join the group!
  7. Either create a reference for the character or commission another artist to draw a reference for you. Submit this to the group. The staff will look over it and point out any changes that need to be made. Once these changes are made, we’ll accept the reference into the group, and the character will be official!
  8. Have fun!

How To Register Your Seccan (if obtained by any method other than the Adoption Herd)

Whoohoo! So you managed to get your fingers on a Seccan design! Cool beans! From here though, because right now it is just a design, in order to use the Seccan you must register it with our group - even if it’s just for HaRPG or OC use. You have exactly three weeks to get this information and the Seccan's reference image submitted to the group before the design is reclaimed!
  1. Draw your seccan! This must be a colored fullbody piece - No linearts or templates allowed.
  2. Fill out the application form (at minimum--feel free and add more stuff to it!) found above.
  3. Submit the reference into the group to the applicable folder! From here we may ask for adjustments to help your character fit better into the world, but regardless you should nearly be all set!
  4. Once we reply with the 'Okay' and accept your character's reference into the group, you're ready to go!

FAQ on Acquiring a Seccan

Though these are answered on the Frequently Asked Questions journal page, we thought it couldn't hurt to reiterate them here.
Are Seccans free to create?
Seccans are now available to be created via design adoption! See our How to pull a Seccan from the Adoption Herd section above!

Can I buy a custom import?
Nope- not at this time anyways! We’ll host import raffles and special sales, so keep an eye out. But as of now, you cannot buy a custom.

Can I design my own Seccan?
Not at this time, no!

What items can my Seccan have upon creation?
Your Seccan may have two items at the time of creation - the catch is that these items must be things that the Seccan can make itself. This means things like beads, metalworks, scarves and etcetera would be a nono, but things like bits of string woven through the tail or flower crowns would be just fine (though admittedly a flower crown woven by a Seccan probably wouldn't be as pretty as one woven by one of the monkeys).

Hi! I'd like to join and adopt a Seccan Horse. There seem to be two galleries of available imports, one under The-Seccan-Horse group gallery and one under TheSeccanRepository gallery... and a few of them are different between the two groups. Which gallery is the correct one to browse for an adoption?
